One of the areas where Windows 7 noticeably improves things as opposed to Windows XP (and Vista) is the visual customization. We can talk about desktop slide show, gadgets, themes and, as a matter of fact, most people are completely satisfied with the features Windows 7 can offer in the terms of visual customization. For others (especially geeks), a third party software such as Rainmeter would be more appropriate to satisfy their needs.
