PCMark 7, the new benchmark by Futuremark that offers complete PC performance testing for Windows 7, was released and is now available to download and purchase. The program offers complete PC performance analysis for Windows 7. PCMark 7 includes 7 separate test suites combining more than 20 individual workloads covering storage, computation, image and video manipulation, web browsing and gaming.
As you may know, PCMark 7 is available in three versions, including a free version that has a limited number of tests from the benchmarking suite. For those who want access to the all various workloads designed to show particular areas of system performance, the price of the Advanced Editon is $39.95 and and the Professional Edition for commercial use which is $995.
Probably the most important things in PCMark 7 against PCMark 6: it takes into account features such as hardware acceleration for transcoding video and solid state drives (SSDs), and uses real applications and games to generate a system score.
