The Last of Us

“The Last of Us” is a genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. 20 years after a pandemic has radically changed known civilization, cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature, infected humans run wild and survivors are killing each other for food, weapons; whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a violent survivor, is hired to smuggle a 14 year-old girl, Ellie, out of an oppressive military quarantine zone, but what starts as a small job soon transforms into a brutal journey across the U.S. Developed by Naughty Dog, creators of the critically acclaimed UNCHARTED franchise, The Last of Us is being made exclusively for the PS3 system.

God of War: Ascension

Vengeance is born in the fires of betrayal in this prequel to the best-selling God of War franchise. Six months have passed since Kratos stood over the bodies of his wife and child, his hands stained with their blood – tricked by Ares into murdering the only people he ever loved. Swearing to avenge them, Kratos broke the blood oath that bound him to Ares, but oaths to Olympus are not so easily broken… Sentenced to an eternity chained within a prison for the living damned, Kratos battles insanity at the hands of the Furies. He will be tested as he seeks freedom, redemption for his sins, and the clarity to avenge his family.

Pikmin 3

Pikmin 3 expands on the gameplay of the previous Pikmin titles, in which the player directs a horde of up to 100 plant-like creatures called Pikmin. The Pikmin can be directed to accomplish various tasks, such as building bridges, destroying barriers, and defeating enemies. The Pikmin themselves come in various types that signify their special abilities or immunities to hazards. While Red, Yellow, and Blue Pikmin return from previous Pikmin games, Pikmin 3 introduces at least two new Pikmin types, Rock Pikmin, which are used to smash through tougher barriers, and the other is a pink, flying pikmin that is currently unnamed and is spotted in the start screen animation of the developer demo. When questioned about the presence or absence of the Purple and White Pikmin types featured in the second game, Miyamoto stated that “They’re in there somewhere, just hidden…”.The player controls four different leaders of the Pikmin at once, compared to its predecessor Pikmin 2 in which two leaders were present. Captain Olimar, the protagonist of previous Pikmin titles, is not playable for currently unknown reasons. Pikmin 3 offers two control schemes: the Wii U GamePad or the Wii Remote with the Nunchuk accessory. In both cases the Wii U GamePad gives the player an overhead map of the game environment, visible on its touch screen.

New Super Mario Bros. U

New Super Mario Bros. U iterates on the gameplay featured in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The objective of each level is to reach the goal flag at the end while avoiding enemies and hazards. The game features five playable characters: Mario, Luigi, two colored Toads, and Mii characters saved on the console. New Super Mario Bros. U is played either by using the Wii Remote or the Wii U GamePad, which allows the player to view the action occurring on the television screen on the controller’s touch screen. In multiplayer, up to four players play simultaneously using Wii Remotes, but an additional (fifth) player can use the Wii U GamePad. The additional player does not control a character, but instead has the ability to assist the other players by manipulating the level: the player can create new item boxes and stun enemies by tapping various areas on the touch screen.

Watch Dogs

The main gameplay mechanic of Watch Dogs is the use of hacking and surveillance. The game’s protagonist Aiden Pearce can use any device tied to the city’s central operating system (ctOS) as a weapon against it. During the gameplay demonstration, Aiden is seen jamming cellphones to serve as a distraction as he enters a vanity art exhibit, tapping a phone call to retrieve information about his target, and manipulating traffic lights to cause a large pileup designed to trap the target and his thugs. The player can also access information from the ctOS on the NPCs they encounter, including information on demographics, health, and their probability of violence. Combat utilizes a combination of stealth components, along with the mechanics of a cover-based third-person shooter. The E3 demo also demonstrated co-op play, as focus shifted to a second character referred to as ”Bixxel_44″ (controlled by another player) following Aiden’s successful killing of his target, who was given orders to protect Aiden by intercepting the police trying to catch him.

Far Cry 3

Far Cry 3 is an upcoming open world first-person shooter video game Far Cry 3 takes place on a tropical island found somewhere at the intersection of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The main goal of the game is to escape from the islands (as there will be more than one, mentioned by Dan Hay) and their crazed inhabitants. It was revealed that the player has the ability to shoot enemies behind objects in crouch mode without moving his head up but with free hands. The demo also revealed an overhauled stealth mechanic as well as a possible leveling system based on experience points. The player will also have the ability to perform “takedowns” by performing melee attacks from above or in crouch mode. The game’s narrative director, Jason Vandenberghe said that the story mode map will be around ten times larger than its previous installments, indicating that it is still an open world sandbox game. According to new gameplay uploaded throughout video sharing sites, it has been noted that the player will be given the ability to survey and plan out his attacks with stealth takedown combinations and also take pictures with his cameras.
