Signs that your computer is overheating:
– goes “blue” (PC boot up but after a while starts giving errors that turn the entire screen blue)
– unusual fan sounds (fan starts to sound differently than you are used to)
– constant rebooting or shut downs (to prevent damage to components, check the cooling fan)
– non-fan-based CPU overheating (you could need new thermal compound between its heat sink and processor)
To overcome these signs, try and use SpeedFan, the free application from Almico that monitors fan speeds, temperatures and voltages. In case you system runs on Windows 7 here are three similar gadgets:
– CPU Meter (to monitor your CPU)
– GPU Observer (to monitor your Video Card GPU)
– Q’s Drive Info (to monitor your HDD disk space)
