Incompatible Software – After Mountain Lion installs via the Mac App Store, if you have any software that is incompatible with the new OS, its automatically identified and you get a standard notification dialog box after the first full, non-configuring boot into the system. Click the More Info button to find out the specifics.

Incompatible Software – The More Info button brings you to a dialog that tells you what happened and identifies the incompatible software. All of the software is deactivated and moved to a special folder for you during installation.

Incompatible Software – All files associated with the bad app, are moved into the Incompatible Software folder, as shown here.

Notifications – Like Growl, Mountain Lion brings new notifications and notification types to the core OS. Here, you see a calendar notification display on the desktop, in the upper right corner. The notifications come with a Close and Snooze button, as appropriate,.

Notifications – After initial dismissal, if you need to see all of your notifications, you can check them out by bringing up the Notification tray by clicking on the bulls eye in the upper right corner on the status bar. Notifications fall out in a grey, linen background.
