 | | DiskState is an advanced system tool, which can be used to search for duplicate files, to compare folder structures and to perform other system administrative tasks. The program has lots of features, of which several are very useful. It also provides access to Windows tools like Defragmenter and Disk Management.
When you start the program, a window containing the disk space usage of your drives appears. You can click one of your drives, in order to find out even more information about it. The window which displays this information also allows you to run a disk cleaner, a duplicate file searcher, and a report generator. A folder explorer is displayed on the left side, while on the right a pie chart containing space usage info is shown. Each folder from this panel has a different color, because it's easier to spot on the pie chart.
Among other features, there's one that caught my eye. DiskState is able to detect changes to files in folder structures. This means that you can view the list of files from a directory that were modified over time.
Pluses: I like the status message displayed by the program when it's waiting for user interaction. This message says "Feeling groovy...".
Drawbacks / flaws: The evaluation version displays a nag-screen which reminds you that certain settings are disabled. This screen instantly re-appears sometimes even when you dismiss it.
In conclusion: DiskState is definitely worth a try. It provides a great way of managing your files and folders.
