'MS Access Password Recovery' is an interesting free program. It is so simple that basically with a few mouse clicks in a few seconds you can recover the lost password of an MS Access database. Although it seemed to be a successful program for some reasons it remained at version 1.0. I hope that the producer didn't forget it and will soon release a new and improved version.
While testing it, I tried to open a file created with MS Access '97 and one with MS Access 2003.You don't have many options to set. In fact, you don't have any options. The only thing you need to do is to select the desired file and it will show you the password. Although the result was perfect for the MS Access '97 file, for the MS Access 2003, it didn't work. The provided password didn't match the one I set and it wasn't good.
Pluses: It's free and it works good on files created with the early versions of MS Access.
Drawbacks / flaws: It has compatibility problems with the latest versions of MS Access.
In conclusion: I look forward for the next release which I hope to appear soon and solve the compatibility problems.
version reviewed: 1.0
