HideHelper will move any window or tray icon out of your way. It also supports hotkeys for hiding one or more windows at the same time. The user interface is very simple to use. A list with all the open windows is shown once you start the program, allowing you to hide any of them by double-clicking its name. But for the tray icons the only thing you have to do is click the next tab.
An extra feature is provided which allows the user to set a password for using the program. Searching through my registry I found out that the password for locking the program is saved in clear text. So any advanced user with access to the Windows registry should have no problem "cracking" that password.
The program should be able to automatically hide your tray icons when it starts. It's also rather difficult to set which icons you want to hide upon Windows startup. Because you need to type the "Image names" (executable names) separated by commas yourself. HideHelper can be set to start automatically when Windows starts and it can also hide itself.
Pluses: The user can set the transparency level of any window. Modifying the icon or the title of a window is also possible.
Drawbacks / flaws: Some tray icons are not visible in the user interface of the program, so you cannot hide them. When I tested this software I noticed that hiding the QuickTime tray icon isn’t possible.
In conclusion: It hides windows and tray icons, supports hotkeys, and has a few extra features.
