 | | 'Backup E-mail' is an easy-to-use tool, which allows you to back up Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, and Internet Explorer Favorites. It features a simple user interface with three main buttons ("Backup", "Restore", and "Schedule Backups"). A beginner shouldn't have any problems when using this program, mostly because it's very simple.
Before you backup your data, you must select what information you want to include in the backup file. You can choose to backup account settings, mail folders, signatures, your address book, and so on. Backup E-mail recognizes multiple identities saved in Outlook and lets you choose which one to save.
Restoring data from a backup file is just as simple. You open the file containing previously backed-up data, then you choose which items to restore and you're done. It's worth mentioning that backup files can be protected with a password. You won't be able to restore the information contained in the protected files, unless you know the password.
Pluses: Backup E-mail can be used to schedule backups. When I scheduled the program to backup my Outlook folders, I didn't know where the backup job disappeared. It turned out that the application uses Windows Task Manager to schedule its backup jobs. Therefore, if you access "Scheduled Tasks" from your "Control panel", you can delete or re-schedule any backup job. I would also like to mention that I contacted the publisher and their response was prompt.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: Even though this software is very simple, it does its job well. I had no problems whatsoever when testing it.
