 | | I was bored with the way Add/Remove Programs looks like in Windows, so I searched for a replacement. I found MyUninstaller and decided to give it a go. The program turned up to be quite nice. It provides a simple and powerful interface for managing the programs that are installed on a computer. This small application doesn't need installation. You will download a zip file, unzip the content into a location of your choice and run myuninst.exe.
The program will not only show you a list of installed software, but it will display comprehensive info about any installed program, so that you can be informed on any application you wish to uninstall.
You can also use this application to delete orphaned entries in the Add/Remove Programs list. In fact, you can delete any entry, but I wouldn't recommend that, unless you know what you are doing. You might end up with an application that has no uninstall option.
If you want to remember which programs were installed on your computer, you can easily create a HTML report. This report includes all these programs' names and details.
Pluses: MyUninstaller provides a 'quiet uninstall' feature. Unfortunately, this only works with programs that use Windows Installer.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: MyUninstaller is a nice to have application. It's freeware and it's good, so it's definitely worth downloading.
