| | Teleport PRO downloads any website or any part of it, making it available for offline browsing. You can download your favurite websites and then browse them from your hard disk. Even pages that have a very big size can be browsed instantly, using the offline files. The software includes cookie support, javascript parsing abilities, multiple download threads and JAVA applet retrieval. You can define a schedule for downloading using the "Project manager" feature.
It's simple to add a new website for offline browsing by using the integrated wizard. The user can configure each aspect of retrieval, including the exploration depth and the type of files that will be downloaded. You can visit the offline version of the site using your favorite web browser. Whenever you try to click a link that wasn't previously downloaded, a javascript dialog appears asking you if you want to open that link from the Internet.
If you want to access password protected websites you can enter a username and password to authentify yourself. If you use a proxy server to access the Internet you can configure its properties using the program's interface. The software also detects the unused space on your hard disk and stops downloading when it drops below a predefined value.
The producer of this program uses techniques that help you get websites from any kind of web server and increase your download speed. I tested these techniques and the result was quite convincing. When using Domain Dispersed Querying and Server Overload Protection, I got an average 10% increase of the downloading speed.
Pluses: Retrieval of files from FTP servers is possible.
Drawbacks / flaws: Program stops responding sometimes, but only for a few seconds at most.
