 | | I've used many programs to diagnose my computer. Many of them offer extensive information about the computer they are running on, but most of them are not free. Fresh Diagnose is a freeware utility, which can be used both for viewing diagnostic information and for benchmarking your system.
I won't be able to list all the program's features here and it's tough to choose the most important ones. Anyway, in my opinion this program displays almost all the information you need about your computer. I'm saying "almost", because I wasn't able to find out the current temperature of my CPU. The program announced me that it was "unable to retrieve info", because "unsupported chip was detected". My motherboard is ALiveNF4G-DVI and my CPU is AMD Athlon(tm) 64 3000+. I also tested this program on an Intel-based system. Temperature detection worked just fine.
The information about your system is organized into categories. These categories are displayed in a tree-structure on the right, allowing you to select items that are of interest to you. Information is gathered when you click an item, so don't worry if it takes a little while to show you the content.
Fresh Diagnose locked my system when I tried to run the benchmarks. I guess this behavior is normal, because after a couple of minutes my computer was working properly again. I would have liked to see a warning message, prior to the program locking my computer, but this didn't happen.
Pluses: You can use the program to output reports about your current system status. These reports can be generated automatically using a scheduler.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: Even though it's a bit unstable, this program is a nifty utility for analyzing and benchmarking a computer system.
