FLV Player is a small and very useful program which allows you to play Flash Video (FLV) files. It can also play On2 VP6 encoded FLV files.
You can use this small player to watch files stored on your local disk by simply dragging and dropping files into the player window. The program can be also used to watch online media and streams from either a regular webserver or an RTMP streaming server. The controls are basic: play/pause, stop, forward, rewind, repeat and volume control. You can also watch files at 0.5x, 1x and 2x zoom as well as in full screen mode.
FLV Player is based on Flash Player and utilizes the default Macromedia FLV Playback component. This component functions best when your .flv contains valid metadata.
Pluses: As a bonus, you can install 'Freecorder Toolbar', a utility which allows you to record audio in MP3 format, right from your browser (Internet Explorer and Firefox only).
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: When trying to see files downloaded from YouTube or GoogleVideo, for instance, you can confidently use this small but reliable player.
