CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2009

CoffeeCup HTML Editor is just what its name says: a HTML editor which you can use after your coffee break to create or modify your web pages. What it lacks in features, it makes up for in extra functionality. About 25000 graphics and photos, and 100 DHTML & JavaScripts are distributed along with the application.

The program also features FTP Uploading and Table, Frame, Font and Form designers. When you start editing your webpage you have the option to use a built-in wizard, which will allow you to choose the colors for your website. Next, you can either edit the HTML code of your page, or you can use the available visual editor. The visual editor is What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG), meaning that the final HTML page will look just like you edit it.

You can easily add a style sheet, or style sheet attributes to any of your HTML tags. The DHTML Menu Designer, and DHTML Window Designer add another plus to the application's array of features.

Another great thing about this program, which will probably help you optimize your search engine strategy, is that it can automatically generate a sitemap of your site. This sitemap can be automatically submitted to the Google search engine.

Pluses: The publisher offers free software upgrades for life.

Drawbacks / flaws: I really missed the HTML code folding feature, and the automatic HTML code completion that other editing tools have. However, these features are not that important if you are not very familiar with HTML. Another drawback that I would like to mention is that each time you switch from HTML Code Editor view to the Visual Editor you must save your file.

In conclusion: It doesn't matter that you want a simple website, or a more complex one, CoffeCup HTML Editor enables you to create and edit it in no time. Both novice and advanced users can use this software, so I encourage you to download and try this software yourself.
