| | DiskSorter is a simple tool that will classify a specified hard disk directory or an entire disk, giving you information about occupied space on disk and the number of files in each directory. Beside this, you can use the software as Windows Explorer replacement to easily perform data management operations such as file copy, move and delete (with valuable information of occupied disk space available).
I had found the Pro version (can be bought at the price tag of $10) to be more advanced and useful. Besides the basic features found in the free version, you can in addition analyze a specified location or disk and categorize the files by access time, user name, creation time and so on. Besides, you can create more than tree profiles which contain your specified directories you’re interested in doing operations more often with. You can also export in the Pro version the analysis report as HTML, TXT or Excel CSV files.
The Pro version has the capability of processing larger amounts of files (over 1 TB), advanced file classification Plugins and more.
Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: Lack of features in the free version.
In conclusion: If you’re looking to easily manage your disk space, files and directories, DiskSorter might be a useful tool for you.
