 | | NetLimiter is a tool for monitoring and controlling network traffic. It allows you to control the bandwidth for each application that's running on your system. NetLimiter enables you to share your Internet connection more efficiently between applications by limiting download and upload speed. You can even schedule bandwidth limitations for a certain time of the day, any day of the week.
Processes that access the network are divided into three groups: online, offline and hidden. Processes are displayed in the online category while they are running. When you end a process (exit an application), the process automatically moves to the offline group. The user can also hide any process. The download and upload speed can be set directly from the list for each process.
The program also shows nice graphs about the bandwidth used by each process. It can also show reports about how much data was transferred. The reports can, optionally, be exported to nice looking HTML pages. If you have more than one network adapter, you may want to configure the program using the Network Configuration Wizard. You should set a network to "Internet" zone if it is used to connect the computer to the Internet. If your network address (IP) looks like 192.168.x.x you should probably set the zone to "Local". Pluses: Monitor and control all-in-one.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: Take control of your network connections with NetLimiter. If you ever wanted to prioritize a download, set a certain download/upload speed, or view detailed statistics about the bandwidth each of your applications is using, NetLimiter is your answer.
