| | ZC Video Converter is a video tool designed to help you convert between a large variety of video files. Besides, you can also use the program for extracting audio from video files. The good news is that besides the most common video file formats, you can convert videos to formats destined to mobile devices such as: PSP, iPhone, iPod, PS3, iRiver, Archos, Creative Zen, Zune, XBox 360 and many others.
The program's user interface has a nice design and is very forthcoming. The conversion of files is a very easy task to complete due to the fact that there's no need to navigate complicated menus. Batch conversion is supported, so you can convert all the files you want to in one sitting. All you need to do is to add the files to be converted, select the output file type and the target directory and you can start the conversion process right away.
You can customize the output files, by changing the profile settings for the output video as well as modifying the aspect. If you feel that your video files files are too large, you can trim them by manually selecting a start and an end for the newly converted file.
There's also an option to can set the computer to shut down when the conversion process is complete.
Pluses: There's a PSP file manager included for an easy download/upload of files from/to the portable device.
Drawbacks / flaws: You may need to install additional codec packs (don't worry, they are available on the producer's website). Another drawback is the fact that handling the video trimming feature may be a bit confusing. You will need to move the cursor on the time line in order to set a start point and an end point because you can't enter digits for start and end time.
In conclusion: Overall, this is a neat and handy conversion software, definitely worth trying.
