| | Just the other day I've been searching for an application which would help me protect files and folders. I was looking for something rather simple, but powerful enough to protect my data against any kind of disclosure.
Folder Protector acts as a folder vault. After you've installed it, you will need to create a password in order to have access to protected files. The protected files will be stared in a directory located in the root of the drive where the program is installed.
The user interface of this program has a nice design: it looks like a proper vault. You need to enter your password every time you wish to lock or unlock your data. You can also set the program to automatically lock the data you want to protect. This is a useful option in case you forget to secure your important information.
Besides protecting your data, you ca use the 'Folder Watcher' feature to create backups of up to six folders in order to make sure your data won't be lost due to system crashed or unintentional deletion.
Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: You can't choose an encryption algorithm.
In conclusion: This is a nice and very easy to use data protection application, designed to protect files and folders.
