 | | Data Lock is a data security or privacy tool which is to be used in order to keep your data safe and sound.
Given the fact that the program has a simple and very intuitive interface, protecting your files and folders would be an easy thing to do. On the left hand side of the program window, there's a menu containing all the program's features. So, you can hide files or set them 'Read Only', the latter meaning that files can be accessed but can't be modified. The same goes for entire folders including the subsequent subfolders.
In case you sensitive data is hosted on an entire partition, you can render it invisible or 'Read Only'. The good news is that the program can secure data on removable drives as well. In case you do that, the drive will appear to be empty. Evidence that there's data on the drive will be available in case you check the drive's properties. Although the drive would appear to empty when opened with Windows Explorer, the drive's properties would indicate the amount of occupied space.
Pluses: The program ca be used to hide files on a USB Flash memory stick. The program can be protected with a password against unauthorized intrusions.
Drawbacks / flaws: The program won't hide completely your data. In case your computer has shared resources rendered invisible, when one can access one of these resources using a direct path.
In conclusion: I believe this program has a lot of potential. However, until further improvement, it can be only recommended for beginners or for those who need a low security level.
