 | | Daphne is a free system utility designed to help advanced users or computer literates to manage and debug processes.
The program itself is an advanced task manager and system monitor. It would run in the system tray and display all the running processes together with their paths, threads, priority, class, memory and CPU usage, peak memory usage, swap and peak swap. You can use the program to kill services, create trap, set priority, stop, pause or view their properties.
You can also create a service kill menu for killing several services using a keyword (menu name). Besides, there's a window property inspector available as well as the possibility to create a list of highlighted programs based on different variables.
Pluses: The system resource usage is so small, you won't notice the program running in the background. You can set the program window transparency.
Drawbacks / flaws: In order to see full process list on Windows XP or over, you may have to add "Debug programs" privilege to your user account.
In conclusion: This may be sometimes a useful tool, but usually, when it comes to using such tools, a system crash is around the corner.
