| | ShoutScan parses the shoutcast.com website, extracting a list of playlist files. The publisher states that this tool was designed for building a local list of shoutcast MP3 stations suitable for use with the XBOX Media and other media players (ex: Winamp).
You can choose your favorite type of music, and the program will automatically download a list of radio stations that play that music genre. It's also possible to select the radio stations' streaming audio format (AAC or MP3). The filename of each playlist (PLS) is generated automatically based on the radio station's name, bitrate, genre, streaming format, and so on.
I tested the program by downloading 50 stations that play alternative music. The program worked quite fast (under a minute), so I was very pleased with its performance. All the stations that it gathered were valid, and I was able to import them all into my media player.
Pluses: It's possible to search a radio station by its name.
Drawbacks / flaws: You have to manually specify the path where PLS files are saved. There's no way of choosing the directory by browsing.
In conclusion: If you find it hard to browse web pages yourself in order to find your favorite music, DracullSoft is the solution.
