 | | There was a time when I had to pay lots of money for accessing the Internet. That's when I learned how to use Internet Explorer's cache in the most efficient way possible. Everything I downloaded and every site I visited was saved in IE's special Temporary Internet Files folder. This information is still available on today's computers provided that you don't disable the cache completely.
IECacheView can read the cache folder of Internet Explorer (Temporary Internet Files), displaying a list of all the files that are there. This is in fact no different to accessing the folder yourself in Windows Explorer. Beside the information which is already accessible through Windows Explorer, IECacheView can display the number of hits for each page.
Usually, a filename from the cache folder is composed of a sequence of letters and a number between two brackets. The sequence of letters is not always representative for the content of the file. However, the program also displays the URL of the page where the content was downloaded from, and allows you to search using the URL or a part of the URL.
Pluses: IECacheView allows you to create a HTML report containing all the information that's displayed by the program.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: I think this software can be improved a bit, so I'm looking forward to its next version.
