| | Duplicate File Eraser enables you to search your computer for duplicate files based on their size and MD5 checksum. Although the program is a bit unstable when working with large sets of files, Duplicate File Eraser can detect duplicates quite accurately.
The first time when I ran the program, I tried to search my entire hard drive for duplicate files. Unfortunately, the program froze, and all I could do was to stop it. Sometimes when hovering over the Start, Stop, and Pause buttons, the program updates them, but you can't use them.
Before the search, you can choose whether to include hidden files, system files, and if you to program to search in subdirectories. It's also possible to specify a size limit for the files and priority of the process.
Pluses: The program supports searching through more than one directories or drives at the same time.
Drawbacks / flaws: The "Reverse selection" that is below the search results doesn't work.
In conclusion: Because it has a couple of stability issues, Duplicate File Eraser is not one of my favorite programs. The program is free, so what did you expect?
