FeedAgent is a simple RSS feed reader. In case you are not satisfied with the Internet Explorer feed reader, you can get RSS feeds using this application.
The program comes with some pre-loaded feeds' links grouped into categories in a directory. Here you can find some of the most popular Websites offering feeds you can subscribe to. You can subscribe to blogs, business, entertainment, environment, health, news, politics feeds. Besides, you can manually add your favorite feeds in order that you stay up to date with everything that concerns you.
The program will display the list of feeds, the titles, and the article in three different sections of the program window. You can, of course, view the full item, email it to a friend using your default email client, save it as a 'del.icio.us' bookmark and so on.
You can 'teach' the program to select the items that interest you the most by marking articles as 'Interesting' or 'Boring'. Based on this system, the program will create a list of recommended feeds that best suit your points of interest.
Pluses: The things I liked were the fact that you can set the program to start with Windows and the fact that this small program is commercial free, no ads to distract or annoy you.

In conclusion: A nice and very useful stand-alone RSS feed reader to suite your needs.
