 | | Side-by-Side Explorer is a small utility which runs in the system tray and provides a quick access to your most commonly used directories by opening them in new Explorer windows.
After installation, you need to configure the program in oder to best suite your needs: you can set it to open a new Explorer window on 'one click', you can open two side by side Explorer windows on 'double click'. You need to select the path to the directory which will be opened in a new window. Thus, you can won't have to open an Explorer window and dig in the folder tree for the folder you wish to open.
In the 'Options' section you can create a list of directories you want to open quickly. In this case, you need to right click the program's icon in the system tray and choose which folder you wish to open. For better understanding of it's full functionality it's advisable to read the 'Help' section.

In conclusion: Although it's not a complex program, it provides an alternative for quickly opening folders in Explorer. I'd choose to use this application rather than creating shortcuts on my desktop.
