Upload 2000 is an easy-to-use tool for storing and sharing files on any e-mail account. It works by splitting and uploading each file to your own e-mail account. When you want to download a file, it automatically merges the segments, recreating the original file. I guess it's worth mentioning that the application uses multi-threading in order to improve download speeds.

I was, and still am, a bit uncertain about this software. This is due to the fact that the publisher doesn't provide any guarantee that your e-mail address is kept safe. You have to use your e-mail address on the publisher's website when you register. The software won't work unless you register for an account. As I said, I read the terms of service, but I wasn't convinced that my e-mail address and my password won't be disclosed to third parties.

Well, let's say you register, like I did. Next, you need to enter the details of your account in the "Account" tab of the application. Once you login, you'll be able to upload any file you want, along with a description.

Pluses:

Drawbacks / flaws: You need to enter the password of your e-mail account on the Upload 2000 publisher's website. Another drawback is that this software doesn't support SSL connections to POP3/SMTP servers.

In conclusion: I wouldn't use this program with my own e-mail address. If you need to store files using your e-mail account, try GMail Drive shell extension. I like it more, even though you won't be able to store large files.
