| | Similarity is a small application you can use to detect duplicate music files. Actually, it can be used for detecting duplicate MP3, WMA, ASF and WAV files.
You can use the program to compare files by tags, by content or by both tags and content. The program is very easy to use and pretty fast: it compared 862 files by both tags and content in about 6 minutes on a Intel P 4, 3GHz CPU with 2 Gb DDRAM.
The program's interface is structured into two side by side windows containing the files compared. In between there are two columns showing the similarity percentage of the content and of the tags. Right clicking on a file allows you to send that file to the Recycle Bin. Double clicking on a file will open it in the default player.

In conclusion: A very simple but useful free program. It may save you a lot of trouble if you have lots of audio on your computer and lost count of your tracks.
