| | Screen2EXE is a free screen recorder which allows you to record your screen including mouse movement and speech from microphone.
The user interface is wizard-like which makes the entire process a child's play. First, you are to select a portion of your screen or the entire desktop. Next, you have to choose the quality, audio input (microphone only) and frame rate (between 1 and 4 frames per second). Normally, 2 FPS would do. Now, you can start recording. In order to stop recording, you can either press the F10 key or click on the icon in the system tray.
The output will be a standalone executable file, very small in size (comparable to Flash video).
Pluses: The good thing about this small program is the fact that the output can be viewed even if you have no codecs installed. Another plus is the small size of the files, that's very useful in case you need to send them via email.
Drawbacks / flaws: There are very few options and features available. The program is a bit unstable. It crashed a couple of time.
In conclusion: A simple, yet very effective screen capturing solution.
