'Easy Duplicate Finder', as the name suggests, is a software meant to help you find and delete duplicate files.
Did you ever wonder what is the amount of hard disk space occupied by duplicate files? This is not the first software doing this task but is one of the few that works good and above all, its free. The program is well structured so you won't get lost between endless menus. You have to go through three steps.
'Step 1' is for 'selection of the directories' and 'setting the options'. After you select the directories where you want to look for duplicates you can make a few settings like selecting the 'Skip zero-size files', 'Protect System Folders', and 'Protect Other System Files' check boxes.
The second step is the one where the program has to prove itself. This is where you have to wait for the program to look for your duplicate files. If the number of files in the selected folders is large you have to wait a bit but not for long.
After the search is finished you can select the files you want to delete and go to step three where you will actually delete them. You can open the files using the associated program, you can select all duplicated to be deleted, you can choose to leave the newest version or the oldest version of the files in case you decide to delete them .
The user interface is intuitive and I think you will find it very easy to use.
Pluses: It's free and works flawlessly.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: Considering that it's free you might give it a try if you need a duplicate finder.
