 | | 'My Photo Index' is meant to be a 'fast cached image browser' as the producer suggests.
When I first opened the program I was a little bit disoriented because it is not intuitive at all. The next step was to look for the 'Help' file but with no luck. The only thing I was able to find were a feature list and a few screen shots. As even the producer suggests, indeed it doesn't cost you anything but neither does the Windows Image viewer. If you push the 'Smallest' button twice you can't go back to the original size in the preview. That was the first impression but then I found the zoom tool. Not intuitive at all. It isn't faster that Windows Image Viewer and when it previews a image it is loading it first at low resolution and this is a little frustrating.
Another 2 interesting features are 'Print' and 'Mail'. 'Mail' is interesting because it can resize your picture while preparing to send and you can select many pictures to be included in the same email. The 'Print' feature though seems to not work because each time I've tried to launch it nothing happened. It is interesting as a image viewer but I can't find it very useful.
The user interface is not intuitive but after you spend some time trying to use this program you will get used to it.
Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: Compared with Windows Image Viewer doesn't offer many distinct features.
In conclusion: If you want to test other image viewers besides the one you are using now, you might try this one too.
