 | | Music File Merger is an MP3 merging program which, I must admit, took me by surprise. When I first started the program, I've been dazzled by its simplicity. A spartan interface that reminded me of Win98 programs, four buttons, no possibility to maximize, minimize or even resize the program window. The annoying part is that there's no such thing as a 'Help' section.
Using it is a walk in the park. You just have to add MP3 files or an entire folder and hit 'MERGE'. There is no progress indicator, but if you check out the taskbar, you will notice the program running in a Command Prompt open window. So far, so good.
Thing is that there are no options to choose from in order to customize your output files and the program has a weird behavior at times. I noticed that, despite the output file was equal in size with the sum of the input files, the media players read it as only one small track (from the list of input files).
Pluses: The merging process was really quick.
Drawbacks / flaws: It doesn't get the job done every time.
In conclusion: With a success ratio of 50%, I don't know whether to recommend it or not, but since it's freeware, why not giving it a try?
