FileSearcher 1.3.3

FileSearcher is a tool that allows you to search through the files on your computer. It searches very fast and it displays the results in real time. The program is very stable, so I guess it uses separate threads to do the actual search.

You can use this application to filter files based on their accessed, modified, or created date. It's also possible to filter by file size, or by attributes. The current search settings can be saved into a profile when you click the 'Predefined' tab from the program's main window.

FileSearcher has a great user interface, in my opinion. This makes it very easy to search and find exactly what you want. The program supports searching using 'regex' expressions, so I can say that it's not designed entirely for beginners. When you search through the contents of files, the application shows a panel beside the results where each occurrence of the search string is displayed. Another nice thing about the program is the fact that it can search through archives. I also used the "Archive to zip" feature.

Pluses: The program is able to find duplicate files with same name, size, date, or CRC checksum. It's also possible to view any file's content in a built-in viewer, or to safely erase any file so that nobody can recover it.

Drawbacks / flaws: I tried searching for a filename that contained a space character ('New Document'), but the program didn't provide valid results.

In conclusion: FileSearcher is a good tool that has several useful features. However, I feel that it could be improved a bit in terms of user friendliness.
