 | | I was searching for a very simple software that allows managing remote files through FTP access. I found Classic FTP Uploading Software, a program with a simple user interface, so it seemed fit for my purpose.
I installed the program on a machine running Windows XP Service Pack 2. Next, I created an account in the "Sites Manager" and tried connecting to it. The program stopped reponding for a couple of minutes. After a long wait, the program finally displayed my root folder's contents. I tried changing the directory, but I had to wait again until its contents appeared. All the time I waited, the program was not responding. My Internet connection was not at its best speed when I did this test, but I think that a good application shouldn't have locked.
There is not much else to say about this program. I guess I should also mention that the program uses a two-panel window. The left one displays the contents of your computer, while the right one shows both the connection status and the remote files.
Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: The program is very unstable when working with slow connections.
In conclusion: I wouldn't recommend this software to anyone who uses a slow Internet connection.
