Private InfoKeeper 2007 is a program designed to help you safeguard your private data and to prevent any disclosure of vital information. You can use this program to protect your private data such as: passwords, banking details, emails, software serials, web logins/passwords, encrypted files, plastic card details, login information, cell phone related data (PIN, PUK, etc.) and so on.
The program stores all this information on a secure folder on either of you drives. This folder will be created using the program and will be protected by a master password. You can choose a predefined security level (standard, medium, high, very high) if you are a beginner; in case you are an advanced user, you can choose yourself an encryption algorithm with keys up to 256 bits.
The protected storage area can be automatically locked after a certain period of inactivity (of your choice). In case you feel insecure about your passwords, you can trust the program to create new and strong passwords using the password generator: you can choose the length and you can combine digits, upper and lower case letters altogether with symbols.
Private data will be stored in so called 'Cards' containing relevant information related to the item you wish to protect: for example, a card containing banking data will include the bank name, account number and password, opening date, SWIFT code, emergency phone number and the bank's Website. From this point of view, you can also look at this program as to an organizer.
Pluses: Web browser integration. Logins, passwords and other sensitive data will be automatically detected and stored in the secure folders.You can export cards to text files or you can print them out.
Drawbacks / flaws: You can't send cards via email. There is no context menu or browser toolbar integration for a quick access to the cards.
In conclusion: This program proved to be a very good privacy container, but since it's shareware, you might want to take a look an another free competitor on the market:
