 | | CPU Speed Accelerator is an application that has been designed to improve the processing speed of your applications.
This application is based on an interesting principle: it automatically detects which application runs in the foreground and it automatically redirects the unused processing power to that application by increasing the priority of the process. The performance boost depends on the application, though.
CPU Speed Accelerator works best with applications that require high processing power. You won't feel any difference with a program that's based on constant user input, so you won't type 30% faster. But, if you use other applications such as email clients and instant messaging, then this application can increase the productivity by having faster applications without the need of buying new hardware.
The program gives you some flexibility in configuration. The main controls from the interface are an authentication form that you have to use for authentication with an administrator account, and a slider that lets you to set the level of acceleration.
Pluses: it increases the speed of some of your applications at lower costs because this doesn't require buying of new hardware.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: the application itself is pretty efficient. Some applications really can take a big advantage when you use this program, especially if you are a heavy multitasking user.
