| | Advanced XML Converter is an application that converts XML files into a variety of formats like HTML, CSV, DBF, or XLS. It has a wizard-like interface, which is easy to use. In just two steps, you can configure the output files and generate them.
When you start the program, the first thing you need to do is open an XML file. Its structure is automatically displayed on the right side of the main window. The number of records in each section and the corresponding section names appear in bold letters. You can click the items that appear in bold, because these are the nodes in the XML that contain more than one sub-item. These nodes can be exported using the program. Once you click one of these items, you can choose which properties you want to export by checking several checkboxes.
The next step allows you to customize each output format. You can choose the code page of the generated files. For CSV files, you can define the delimiter and whether to enclose each field in single or double quotes.
Pluses: The main quality of this software is its ease of use.
Drawbacks / flaws: When you press the "Finish" button in the last step (2nd), a dialog appears asking you where to save the converted file. If you press "Cancel" in this dialog, the program closes itself altogether.
In conclusion: Converting XML files is easy with this software. Advanced XML Converter is stable, so I didn't run into any problems using it.
