 | | PCMesh Internet and Disk Cleanup can be used to rid your system of unwanted, redundant temporary files and items. The program helps clean Windows temporary files (empty Recycle Bin, empty Prefetch folder, clear 'Run', 'Search', MRU history, etc) and Internet temporary files (Internet Explorer and Mozilla browsers' files).
You can customize the automatic cleaning process by checking or un-checking the items you wish to delete or you can use the manual custom cleanup feature which helps you search for specific files and delete them. Activity reports can be generated but can't be exported to files.
The interface is not very appealing, but it's simple enough for any user. You can switch between the basic and the advanced interface in case you need more cleaning options.
Actually, the program didn't delete the list of typed URLs from Internet Explorer and it only partially deleted the Temporary Internet files. The 'Prefetch' folder content has also been partially deleted.
Pluses: You can customize your system's cleanup by specifying file names or extensions and exclude folders from the deletion list. Before deletion you can overwrite files as many times as you like.
Drawbacks / flaws: The program is a bit unstable: an error occurred during a custom cleanup and the program froze a couple of times while performing an automatic cleanup. Another drawback is the fact that after cleaning your system, you can only choose to 'Restart', 'Shut down' and 'Power Off' your computer. An option for changes to take effect after the next restart would have been nice.
In conclusion: A useful but flawed software. I'm looking forward to an improved release.
