 | | Mask Surf Standard is a program which has been designed to help you safeguard your privacy while surfing the Internet.
You can use this program in order to hide your IP number so that you can browse the Internet using Firefox or Internet Explorer and remain anonymous. You can also use the program in order to conceal your IP number when communicating through instant messengers such as: AIM 5.9 and below, ICQ, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. Besides hiding your IP when browsing, or, to be more accurate, replacing it, the program can also help you wipe out your Internet tracks stored in cookies, browsers' cache, addresses cache, forms and passwords and history.
Besides hiding your IP number and wiping residual temporary browser data, this program can also mask your operating system and browser. This means that whenever someone queries your computer in order to check your OS or your browser, he or she may find the data you want them to see. For example, you can mask mask your Windows OS with Mac OS, meaning that people will see you using a Mac on the Internet, when you are actually using a PC.
Pluses: The false IP can be automatically changed at an interval of your choice (in minutes).
Drawbacks / flaws: The browsers have to be restarted in order to apply the changes performed by this program. When masking the OS with previous versions, your system may slow down considerably or even freeze and you'll have to restart it.
In conclusion: If it wasn't for the system instability, this would have been a great program. But there is hope.
