 | | P-Encrypt Secure Drive is a small data encryption application which will help you keep your information to yourself and prevent any unauthorized access attempt.
The program wizard-like interface will help you create a virtual encrypted drive. You can choose either to create a normal, visible drive or a stealth drive disguised as a file. Drives can be encrypted using, AES, Blowfish, Twofish or TripleDES and Camelia algorithms and can be password protected. You can choose between four cypher methods and three hashing algorithms: sha256, ripeMD160, md2. The newly created encrypted dive can be of a fixed size, (4 Gb for example), or of variable size (the image will automatically increase or decrease in order to fit the size of files or folders). You can also choose a drive letter and a label. The new drive will act the same as a local drive but for only as along as the program is running. When using the program, you will need to connect or disconnect drive
Pluses: Both secure and stealth (if necessary). Easy to use, strong encryption, fixed or variable size drives. You can also install a CD/DVD burning module.
Drawbacks / flaws: The program doesn't have a password strength indicator, so you might use a strong encryption algorithm but a weak password which is easy to crack by dictionary or brute force attack. The program is not very stable as it crashed a couple of times while I was trying to disconnect an encrypted drive and when trying to create a stealth drive. Another major drawback is the fact that when the program is stopped, anyone can delete the files 'containing' the encrypted drive's data.
In conclusion: Good, but still needs improvement.
