SWF & FLV player is a video player that is designed to play these Adobe Flash formats.
The player offers a simple interface with all the usual controls of a video player. There are two available versions: the free version and the professional version.
Some features like fullscreen playing are not available into the free version, so the producers use a
QuickTime like operating mode. Since most of the FLV or SWF movies are used for Web distribution, probably you won't need a fullscreen functionality.
The playback of the video material is quite smooth. The player has various controls that can modify the quality of the playback.
The professional version gives you the possibility to take screenshots from the videos. It also has the support for converting the whole movie into a series of images .
Pluses: it can play FLV and SWF material, it has various customization options.
Drawbacks / flaws: some features like the fullscreen mode are available only in the professional version.
In conclusion: this video player is quite good. An Open Source alternative to this player is VLC. But, unlike VLC, SWF & FLV player is a stable application. VLC crashes often during FLV playbacks and this doesn't happen just under Mac OS X. It happens on other platforms too, so it's a clear thing the fact that the alternative is pretty buggy.
