The widget provides you with a quick search engine for a PHP function. If the search finds the function, you can double-click it. That will open the references found on the official PHP.net Website about that specific function. You can also open the reference directly on the Dashboard, because it has a built-in PHP manual, which is usually distributed under a compiled CHM help file for Windows users.
The widget supports multiple languages. This allows you to search a function reference in your own language, if it's supported by PHP.net.
Pluses: It provides a quick search for the mySQL functions. It can get results in other languages. If you don't have network access, you can use it locally. Otherwise, it will bring you to the PHP.net Website online reference.
Drawbacks / flaws: It's quite annoying that you can't move the cursor inside the search textbox. If you make a mistake, you have to delete the entire text and type it again.
In conclusion: This widget is pretty helpful for PHP developers, because it gives you a fast interface and support for multiple languages.
