AEVITA Tracks Eraser 1.5

'AEVITA Tracks Eraser' is a program you can use to hide your trail, when using a computer. Whether you browse the Internet, open documents, watch movies, there will always remain traces of your activity.

This program scans your computer for any temporary files and deleted files in the Recycle Bin. You can delete all the temporary files yourself, but if someone wants to retrieve them, it can be easily done using an application that recovers deleted data. To protect your privacy, the temporary files from Windows, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Office can be deleted using 'Gutmann data clearing and sanitizing directives and erasing methods' based on the US Department of Defense DOD 5220.22-M, NAVSO P-5239-26 (RLL), VSITR, and GOST P50739-95. Erased data are overwritten, so that they are lost beyond recovery.

The program can also be used for freeing space on your drives. A very nice feature is 'Emergency Cleaning'. You can set a hotkey that starts the cleaning process and terminates selected running processes. You can automate the cleaning process by setting the program to auto-clean either at startup or before computer shutdown. All activity can be logged, which then can be exported in TXT or HTML format.

Pluses: You can customize the erasing methods and the list of files or folders to be shredded by adding or removing files from that list. The program has a built-in list of about 200 plug-ins to other applications such as Winamp, ACDSee, etc.

Drawbacks / flaws: When I tried to clean my system, I/O errors occurred, both when I chose 'Quick Cleanup' or 'Clean and Reboot'.

In conclusion: I'd say it's a very good program, if it didn't have those errors.
