| | 'Stealth Chat Monitor' is a handy tool used for monitoring chat messages on a computer. I used it to create logs of my Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger conversations and it did a very nice job.
The program has an intuitive interface, which makes it very easy to use. It is password protected, so only the person who installed it has access to the logs and it can also be run in stealth mode. In case you have the program hidden, you can bring it up using the selected hotkey.
The program will automatically detect the running Messengers and it will create a detailed log of any conversation. The logs will include info regarding the time, username, IM client, partner, and the chat message body. Logs can be viewed by date or you can view the global log. There is a "Find" option included, so that you can search for keywords. You can also set the program to delete logs older than a chosen date.
Pluses: In case you are away from your computer, you can set the program to send automated emails containing the logs. These emails can be sent at a chosen rate of recurrence.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: Stealth and easy-to-use. A reliable program can record instant text messages while you are away from your computer.
