| | 'DVD Rip Master Pro' can make backup copies of DVDs. You can choose to rip either the whole DVD or just a chapter. It's also possible to rip subtitles or the audio track of the output movie. This option is only available if your DVD contains subtitles or audio.
This software is easy-to-use. If you don't want to set any advanced options, you should be able to convert DVDs with just a few clicks. First, you should open a DVD, by clicking a button on the user interface. Please note that you should open either the video folder from the DVD (usually VIDEO_TS) or the IFO file, which you can find by browsing the DVD. Next, set the output filename and format. 'DVD Rip Master Pro' supports various output formats, including AVI, which can be compressed with any codec installed on your computer, MPEG, WMV, or Super Video CD. You can also choose 3GP, iPod, or PSP as the output format.
The ripping process can take some time, depending on the duration of the DVD. I ripped a 10 minute movie, using the AVI output format and MPEG compression, in about 11 minutes on an Intel P4 3000 with 2GB of RAM. I noticed that ripping into iPod format takes a bit longer, because the movie is re-encoded.
Pluses: DVD Rip Master Pro has a very nice user interface. Its colors are chosen to give the impression of depth.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: It's not always legal to make copies of your DVDs, so be sure to check the copyright notice before you start ripping. This program should help you get the job done.
