| | 'Quinn' is a free implementation of a popular game with falling blocks, which was originally produced by the Tetris Company.
I guess the name of the company mentioned above, should hint of what to expect. This game was implemented on various platforms, which brought quite a good popularity to it.
The interface of this game is well designed. I like it, because it looks better than most other implementations.
Besides good looking, the game has another nice thing, the network support. You can play against one of your friends or use the standalone server, by starting the network support. The standalone server is included in the distribution package.
The default controls are quite annoying, but they can be customized in the 'Game' menu. Other customizable things are the pieces and the background. The game comes with some TIFF images, which can be dragged onto the game's window. This will change the pieces that are used in the game. Because these are image files, with some skill you can build your own pieces.
Pluses: it is free. It gives you the possibility to play a network game. You can upload your score to the producer online database. The update manager is well implemented.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: this game can fill up your spare time, by playing it on a network or just by yourself.
