| | 'APEX Free Pocket PC Video Converter' is a compact, yet very powerful video conversion tool, which can be used for converting video files to Pocket PC video formats.
The interface is smooth, well designed, and intuitive. The program can be used by anyone, even if they don't have a lot of PC experience. You add a video source (it supports the most common video formats including 3GP and MP4), select the output format (AVI, MPEG, MOV, RM, WMV, iPod, or MP4), and hit 'Convert'. More advanced users can customize their output file by selecting from the advanced options, things like video and audio codecs, framerates, etc.
Pluses: You can preview the source file with the built-in player.
Drawbacks / flaws: The program acted strangely when I tried to convert video files. After pressing 'Convert' a dialog box popped up, saying that I could only convert videos to PSP and that I need to register in order to have a fully functional program, but after that the program performed all the functions.
Another drawback is that the program has no Pause/Resume function. During the conversion process after I hit 'Stop', the program kept running, but the 'Stop' button was gone, so I had to close the program forcefully.
In conclusion: Since it appeared a bit confusing with all the registration processes and due to the errors I experienced, I wouldn't recommend the use of this program even though it's free. It does a lousy job.
