 | | 'ARAX Disk Doctor' is a useful data recovery utility. It can undelete files and recover partitions. The program has advanced features that enable it to recover data from RAID disk arrays, dynamic disks, and NTFS encrypted folders.
The program has a couple of integrated wizards. These wizards allow a beginner to understand how the program works, and what each option means. Although the program is complex, a beginner should not have any trouble recovering data. Of course, this program can't recover data that has been overwritten. Please try to avoid writing new files on the drive from which you just deleted files if you wish to recover them.
I deleted some files in order to test the program. I didn't write anything on that partition after deleting, because I wanted to make sure that the files were still there. I was able to recover all my deleted files and even a deleted directory using ARAX Disk Doctor.
Pluses: This software has an advanced search feature, which enables you to search for deleted files by specifying some of their attributes. The search criteria can be the file's name, type, size, or creation date. The ability to create a full image of your hard disk adds a plus to the application's functionality. The disk image file can be opened by the program anytime you want.
Drawbacks / flaws: I tried to stop the folder scanning process by clicking the "Stop!" button. The program closed itself without displaying any error messages. This only happened the first time I ran the program (evaluation version). I wasn't able to make the program crash again.
In conclusion: ARAX Disk Doctor is a fast and user-friendly data recovery tool. In my opinion, it's suitable for both professionals and beginners.
