 | | 'LockDown My Computer' is one of the best protection software I've tested. It has so many options that if you don't pay attention when you configure it, you'll end up trapped in your own operating system. Make sure that you put a shortcut on your taskbar or desktop to have quick access to the program. Sometimes even this precaution won't be enough, if you lock your desktop icons, and you have to restart your computer. There are more than 100 settings. You can lock parts of Windows like features from the start menu and the taskbar, Internet explorer, interface, drives, task scheduler, log on/off/reboot, etc. Some of these settings affects all users, so be careful.
It was very funny to test this program especially when I selected the 'Hide Drives in My Computer'. Some of these restrictions are only for beginner users, because the experienced users can find ways to bypass them. This is a good program to use in Internet Café. You can restrict many features and keep your data files away from the user's access. There are also some settings, which work only under Windows XP.
The user interface could be improved, but it's easy to work with it.
Pluses: The security is high. You can lock either a personal computer or a public one.
Drawbacks / flaws: No 'Help' file. You might find it a little difficult at first to work with this program.
In conclusion: Since this is the first version of the program I look forward for the next one. I enjoyed testing this program.
