Ziplight is a Spotlight plugin that extends its functionality.
The Mac OS X supports natively the ZIP file archive format. This program is used to distribute files or to store your files in archives.
Spotlight is a metadata search engine, designed to locate a wide variety of items on your Mac. This engine is powerful enough to search specific words inside your documents.
With this plugin, Spotlight becomes more powerful because it gives you the possibility to search inside ZIP archives. It doesn't give you the possibility to search inside the items from the archives, because this means unzipping every archive in order to do this specific action.
Pluses: it extends the functionality of Spotlight, it is easy to install it.
Drawbacks / flaws: it isn't possible to search for indexed content inside the files within a ZIP archive because of some technical limitations of the ZIP algorithm.
In conclusion: if you use frequently the ZIP archive format and you would like to find items within those archives, this plugin is a solution for your problem.
