 | | Anonymous Surfing is a program, which allows you to surf the Web in an anonymous manner. This means that it changes the settings for Internet Explorer, enabling a connection via proxy, in order to hide your real IP number.
The program downloads a list of proxy servers. It checks their speed, status, and country. Then the program shows you when the servers were last used and the port they are using. You have a list of countries you can check and the program will seek for proxy servers located in the countries you checked in that list.
You have three options for setting a proxy server. The first option is to enter manually the proxy address and port, if you have a list of the Internet. The second option, which is the most convenient, is to allow the program to choose the best server automatically. The third option is to choose manually a server from the list.
In order to insure your anonymity, you can set the program to change the server at a selected time interval (between 15 minutes and three hours).
Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: You can only use Internet Explorer for anonymous surfing. The program cannot change the settings for Mozilla Firefox or Opera.
When surfing the Web via a proxy server chosen by the program, you might experience erratic Internet Explorer behavior. When I tried to open www.google.com, I was redirected for no reason to other websites. Eventually, after several tries, I was able to open the page. I also experienced the fact that pages didn't load up completely, some content, such as pictures, was missing.
In conclusion: A little bit unstable, but in the end it gets the job done.
